A brand that puts pets first—designed to feel cozy, kind, and full of character.

Compani is a pet-first café where people and their animals can relax, connect, and enjoy quality time—together. With its cozy atmosphere, community feel, and playful menu for both pets and humans, Compani sets out to offer more than just coffee—it creates a shared space where comfort and companionship come first.

The challenge was to design a visual identity that balances charm with clarity, and warmth with professionalism. The goal: to develop a brand that feels inviting, joyful, and unmistakably pet-focused—while still appealing to humans with good taste and a love for cozy cafés.

Process & Exploration

Creating a playful and inviting identity for a café built on warmth, whimsy, and wagging tails.

To bring the feel-good spirit of Compani to life, the project began with a moodboard focused on playful café aesthetics, character-driven illustrations, and pet-forward branding. The goal was to find a tone that felt warm, approachable, and community-centered—where charm and clarity could live side by side. Inspiration ranged from coffee shop mascots to soft-edged type and whimsical signage, all helping to define a visual personality that felt as cozy as the café itself.

From there, early sketches explored how to blend pet elements with café iconography in a lighthearted yet smart way. Cat silhouettes, paw prints, and coffee cups became building blocks in a modular system—allowing different combinations for logo marks, stamps, and signage. This phase was all about balancing clarity with character, ultimately leading to logo concepts that feel expressive, adaptable, and unmistakably Compani.

The Compani identity is designed to feel cozy, friendly, and unmistakably pet-first—capturing the café’s warm atmosphere and community-driven concept. At the heart of the brand is a playful logomark featuring a coffee cup with a paw print and a curious cat peeking out. This instantly recognizable symbol merges café culture with pet companionship, making it clear that both humans and their furry friends are welcome.

The color palette blends rich coffee brown with soft neutral tones and a touch of olive green—evoking warmth, comfort, and a natural, homey vibe. These earthy hues help set a relaxed tone while offering versatility across digital and physical applications.

Typography plays a big role in Compani’s character. The rounded, bubbly display typeface brings a sense of softness and joy, while a clean sans serif balances it out for readability in menus, packaging, and signage. The combination feels welcoming and easygoing—just like the café itself.

Supporting design elements like paw prints and the signature cat illustration are used throughout the brand, from takeaway cups to pastry wrappers. These visual details add personality and consistency, creating a cohesive brand experience that feels thoughtful, approachable, and full of charm.

To bring the Compani experience to life beyond the logo, I designed a range of branded packaging and touchpoints that extend the visual identity into everyday moments. From takeaway coffee cups to pastry bags and loyalty cards, each item was crafted to reinforce Compani’s warm, pet-first personality in a tangible, feel-good way.

The packaging features the playful cat-in-cup mark, paw print patterns, and earthy tones from the brand palette—creating a sense of charm and consistency across all materials. A key goal was to design items that felt both functional and delightful, whether it’s a napkin that makes you smile or a cup you want to keep.

By embedding the identity into every detail, the brand becomes a full sensory experience for guests and their pets alike. These small moments of branding help build recognition, community, and affection—turning everyday items into memorable brand interactions.
